The Democrat party has introduced an "energy bill" in Congress that does virtually nothing to solve the duel problems of high gas prices and the security risk of America`s dependence on middle eastern oil.
The bill is a slap in the face to the 90% of America that is already suffering from the high price of fuel, brought to us by the outrageous restrictions forced on the country by same congressional clowns that are claiming this is the answer.
The current BoBomma line is "America only has 3% of the world`s oil reserves but represents 25% of the world`s oil demand, so drilling isn`t the answer". Of course, as is always the case with the Slippery Messiah, the whole story isn`t being told. Proven reserves in the Prudhoe Bay, Alaska site alone make it the 13th largest oil field in the world, and drilling there would clearly increase world supply and drive down prices. Isn`t that the objective? Apparently not in the eyes of the Pelosi-BoBomma crowd.
More importantly, BoBomma is talking about PROVEN reserves. We don`t even know how much oil we actually have, since the Democrats in Congress won`t let us even explore these areas to determine what1s there. Why, you ask? Because they don`t care what`s best for the country. They care about staying in power. Everything else is irrelevant.
Let`s say everything is going well for you - thinks are working they way you expect they should - your technological gadgets are doing what you bought them to do and the instruction manuals all make sense. You may say to yourself "I really need to get a gadget that doesn`t work right, one that will regularly send me into a fit by doing unexpected, annoying things out of the blue". What you need is a Zune!
That`s right, A Mircosoft Zune.
Now, let`s have a full disclosure blurb here. I`m not a Mac guy - or an I-tunes guy for that matter. My charming bride has both of these devices, but I`m a Windows guy and have been for a long time. I didn`t really pick Windows - Windows picked me. Actually the corporate world picked Windows and picked me as well, so I`m a Windows guy because I have to be (XP that is, haven`t gone down the Vista road yet...). But I don`t mind Windows - in fact, it has many, many features that are dramatic improvements over using a quill to inscribe parchment and deliver it with carrier owls. It does have some annoying features - such as those annoying little windows that pop up and say
"We`re sorry, something happened and Windows has no idea what to do next, so I`m going to throw up all over myself and quit. Press the debug button if you would like some unintelligible information to mull over before you loose all your work"
But, I`ve digressed, the main point was that I don`t have anything against Microsoft products in general, but when it gets to the specifics about Zune, it drives me crazy.
The device itself is actually quite fine - I`ve never had a problem of any sort. But the software... man what a train wreck. You can`t put a thing on the Zune without going through this disaster zone. Sometimes you plug in and the software can`t see your folder for some reason, so it immediately syncs your Zune and erases all of the music on it. Other times, when you dump music into a folder it is supposed monitor, it fails to recognize it. Then you`re sunk, because then there`s no way to get the music on the Zune. And all of this is just the beginning.
So, what`s the verdict? If Microsoft every updates the interface to allow you to drop files onto the Zune like a USB drive - buy one. Until then, steer clear unless you need the frustration it can add to your life.
Check out this video - and watch to the end.
The man is right. Look at all of human history. Freedom really is always worth the price, because without freedom a people can have nothing.
Lately, the tag line from the Democrat Party regarding the Messiah BoBamma is "Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a Governor".
Let''s think this through for a minute. Before this month, have you ever heard of Jesus referred to as a "community organizer"? Of course not. Because it''s stupid. First of all, Jesus had a profession before he started his earthly ministry - he was a carpenter. He became a teacher (rabbi, it says in the New Testament) and went on to become a sacrifice to allow for the redemption of the human race. He was not a community organizer.
And what about the Governor part of the quip? Is the implication that Governors of the States through the America are evil people who persecute people? It''s a clear attempt to accuse Governor Palin of persecuting poor little BoBamma. And that''s just stupid as well. These folks are really out of touch.
Could it be that a random video shot of a little girl at the Republican Convention a few weeks ago could have lasting impact on the future of the world?
Perhaps I''m getting a little carried away, but I suspect this short video clip
will, in the long run, have a significant impact American attitudes about abortion.
What was captured in that moment is something that''s easy to understand but hard to define. It is love. Unconditional, boundless love.
This simple, unscripted video clip may have done more than almost anything else could do to remind people that every child, absolutely EVERY CHILD is wanted and will be loved, unconditionally, if we''ll just allow them to get out of the womb and into the world. If the net result of 40 million people seeing this image is even a small percentage of them reconsidering the importance of the abortion debate, the future may very well change.
